Account Specialist, Client Accounting Services

The CAS account specialist is primarily responsible for coding data transactions in QuickBooks Online, then performing the appropriate bank and credit card reconciliations and data work.

Duties and responsibilities

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for clients as engaged
• Codes data transactions in QuickBooks Online for bank accounts and credit cards
• Maintains the general ledger for clients
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the books for clients based on engagement letters
• Provides payroll support to clients
• Provides support for tax staff and management regarding information requested for tax return compliance
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required skills and abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of general and specific payroll tax and sales tax regulations
• Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, but not required
• At least three to five years of related experience required

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
